Chocolate Porter Brownies

Brownies are a delicious children's treat - but for game day, a more grown-up version may be more apt, like this recipe incorporating chocolate porter beer.

Ingredients

Preparation

  1. Place beer into mixing bowl, place sauce pot on the cooktop and cook for 7 mins on low heat. Transfer to a bowl and set aside.

  2. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a baking pan and line with parchment, letting edges hang over sides of pan (excess parchment will serve as handles to lift out the brownie). Set aside.

  3. Place butter, sugar, brown sugar, bittersweet chocolate and semi-sweet chocolate into mixing bowl, mix well.

  4. Add flour, eggs, cocoa, baking powder, vanilla, reserved cooked beer and salt, mix well. Scrape down sides of mixing bowl with spatula.

  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread with spatula. Bake 25-28 minutes (350°F). Let cool completely in pan before removing. Cut brownies into squares and serve.
